CINEMATOGRAPHY

Ken Willinger is an Emmy award winning Director of Photography with more than 25 years in the TV/Film business. Based in Boston, Massachusetts, and available both nationally and internationally, he is well versed in all aspects of film and television production.

 

EXPERIENCE

Ken has filmed projects around the world with much time spent in  South America, The Middle East, Africa and Europe with an emphasis on Russia. Credits include documentary, narrative, commercial and episodic TV.

 

PROFESSIONAL EQUIPMENT

With a state of the art RED ONE Digital Cinema Camera now available in his production package, Ken can offer clients an affordable option to 35mm film.

 

Other formats available include the PANASONIC HVX200 720P HD P2 camera with a 35mm still lens adapter and a SONY D600WS (16X9) Betacam SP camera.

 

The recent acquisition of more Arri and LTM lighting has expanded his already expansive lighting package (1 ton van) and can comfortably cover most small to medium needs.

 

Also recently added to the production package is an ARRI FF-4 follow focus unit, a 3 stage RedrockMicro matte box that can handle Panavision size filters and an Element Technica Mantis Hand Held system. An ANGENIEUX 25 - 250 PL mount Zoom lens and most recently a set of RED PRO PRIME lenses are a great enhancement to our RED ONE digital cinematography camera package.

The new set of Red Pro Prime lenses have arrived! Theyinclude a25mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm and 100mm. All are T1.8...pretty fast! We'll use them on our next documentary exploring the decline of skilled labor in America starting in July.

 

"Industrial Tsunami" a new documentary on the decline of skilled labor in America begins production in July. John Ratzenberger is Executive Producer, Al Admire is Producer/Director. I'll be DP using the Red camera.

 

Recorded another day with "Time Warp" for Discovery.

 

 

"Karma's Choice", a short recorded in early 2008 was shown in the Boston International Film Festival on 4/26/09. The screening at the AMC Boston Commons cinema was a great success. This thriller was recorded in HD using the Panasonic HVX200 with a 35mm adapter.

 

 

DP'd a job with Tom Peters, the managing consultant guru, in Boston. We created small conversation/story spots for the internet.

 

 

The Discovery show "Out of Egypt" was in Salem, MA to record a segment. The show is not on the air yet. We used Sony F900 cameras for the production. Look for it on Discovery Channel soon.
